SEBI will reassess the IPO grading concept as it has gained some experience after receiving both positive and negative responses from the concept.
SEBI has made it compulsory for all Initial Public Offerings
to be graded by rating agencies since April 2007.
After a company gets the SEBI's approval it has to obtain grade from rating
agencies like ICRA, Crisil, Fitch and CARE which have to be disclosed in the
prospectus.
The grade ranges between one and five where five is the best and one is poor in fundamentals.
